Samoan Pie

A delightful dessert that blends gooey caramel, chocolate, and shredded coconut in a buttery crust, perfect for any festive occasion.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your pie dish generously.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, softened butter, sugar, salt, and baking soda until it resembles a coarse crumb.
  3. Form the crust: Press the mixture into the bottom of your greased pie dish evenly and slightly up the sides.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden on the edges.
  5. Cool down: Once baked, remove from the oven and set aside to cool completely.
  6. Layer up: Spread caramel sauce over the cooled crust, sprinkle with shredded coconut and chocolate chips.
  7. Set and serve: Allow the pie to set for about 30 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the crust a day in advance. Avoid overmixing the crust to prevent density.
