Pesto Pasta With Chicken

A delightful dish of pasta coated in vibrant pesto sauce and paired with tender sautéed chicken, offering a perfect blend of flavors and comfort.

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1 cup pesto sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta until al dente. Drain and reserve a cup of pasta water.
  2. Sauté the Chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil, add the chicken, and season with salt and pepper. Cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Create the Sauce: Reduce heat and mix in the pesto and heavy cream until well combined.
  4. Combine the Pasta: Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet, mixing until coated. Add reserved pasta water if needed.
  5. Add the Cheese: Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Top with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. Pesto can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
