Mediterranean Chicken Gyros with Feta Tzatziki

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread
  • Lettuce, chopped
  • Tomatoes, diced
  • Red onion, sliced
  • Cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
  2. Whisk together the olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Coat the chicken breasts thoroughly in the marinade and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden-brown and cooked through.
  5. Mix the Greek yogurt, crumbled feta, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in another bowl until smooth.
  6. Slice the grilled chicken and lay it in the warm pita bread.
  7. Drizzle the tzatziki sauce over the chicken and add lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cucumber.
  8. Roll up the pita and enjoy!
