Irresistibly Crispy Deep Fried Onion Balls

  • 2 medium Yellow onions
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Ranch dressing
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and finely chop the onions.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk and mix until a smooth batter forms.
  4. Gently incorporate the diced onions into the batter.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot at 350°F.
  6. Drop small balls of the onion mixture into the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Remove the onion balls with a slotted spoon and drain on a cooling rack or paper towel.

Notes

For a healthier twist, consider using an air fryer. Adjust the cooking time to about 10-15 minutes.
