Honey Fig Preserves

A luscious spread of fresh figs balanced with honey and a hint of lemon, perfect for drizzling over breakfast or desserts.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Fresh Summer Figs, quartered
  • 1 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (Optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and trim the figs, cutting them into quarters.
  2. Combine figs, honey, lemon juice, and any optional ingredients in a large saucepan.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently for 20-30 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
  4. Cool the preserves slightly after removing from heat.
  5. Jar the warm preserves in sterilized jars and seal tightly.

Notes

For longer storage, process jars in a water bath. Consider using dried figs by soaking them first.
