Grilled Cheese Breakfast Casserole: A Delicious Morning Treat!

A delightful and easy-to-make breakfast casserole that combines the classic flavors of grilled cheese with the heartiness of a breakfast dish.

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 4 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the bread slices in the bottom of the dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the bread.
  5. Repeat with the remaining bread and cheese.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and cheese layers.
  8. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes to soak.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the eggs are set.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
