Garlic Steak Tortellini

A delightful combination of tender steak and creamy tortellini, infused with garlic and fresh herbs for an unforgettable dining experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cheese-filled tortellini
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or Italian seasoning, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the tortellini: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the tortellini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a small cup of pasta water for later.
  2. Sear the steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Season your steak generously with salt and pepper. Once hot, add olive oil and sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove from the skillet and let it rest, covering it with foil.
  3. Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, lower the heat and add a tablespoon of butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Create the sauce: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Let it simmer and reduce slightly. Add the grated Parmesan cheese gradually, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Combine everything: Slice the steak into bite-sized pieces and return it to the skillet. Add the cooked tortellini and toss gently to coat in the creamy sauce. Sprinkle fresh herbs on top for added flavor.
  6. Serve hot: Plate your Garlic Steak Tortellini while still steaming, topped with an extra sprinkle of Parmesan and pepper.

Notes

To save time, prepare the tortellini and sauce ahead of time and combine just before serving. Avoid overcooking the tortellini for the best texture.
