Easy Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake

A delightful dish that combines the flavors of sushi into a comforting bake featuring tender salmon, creamy toppings, and sticky sushi rice.

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 lb salmon fillet
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • Nori sheets for serving
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. Cook the rice with 2 1/2 cups of water according to package instructions.
  4. Mix the mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl.
  5. Spread the cooked rice in an even layer on a baking dish.
  6. Place the salmon fillet on top and spread the spicy mayonnaise mixture evenly over it.
  7. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  9. Slice the dish and serve with sliced avocado, chopped green onions, and nori sheets.
  10. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for an appetizing touch.

Make-ahead tips: Prepare sushi rice a day in advance; store in an airtight container. Cooking alternatives: An air fryer can be an excellent option for quickly cooking salmon.
