Crispy French Toast Fried Chicken Sandwich

A delightful sandwich combining the crunch of French toast with juicy fried chicken, drizzled with maple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of thick-cut bread (brioche or challah)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 chicken breasts, breaded and cooked
  • Maple syrup for serving
  • Butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the large eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  2. Soak each slice of bread in the egg mixture, allowing it to absorb flavors.
  3. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat until bubbling gently, then lay the soaked bread in the skillet.
  4. Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side, flipping carefully with a spatula.
  5. Warm the breaded chicken breasts in another pan until hot and crispy.
  6. Assemble the sandwich by placing one crispy chicken breast between two slices of French toast.
  7. Drizzle warm maple syrup generously over the sandwich and serve hot.

Notes

Make-ahead tip: Prepare the egg mixture the night before. Consider using an air fryer for the chicken for a healthier option.
