Crispy Bacon Mozzarella Poppers

Delicious crispy bacon-wrapped mozzarella poppers with a touch of maple drizzle, perfect for any gathering.

  • 10 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F if baking or heat oil in a deep fryer for frying.
  2. Cut each mozzarella stick in half.
  3. Wrap each piece of mozzarella in a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick if necessary.
  4. Dredge the bacon-wrapped mozzarella in flour, then dip in the beaten egg, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. For frying: Gently place the poppers in hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. For baking: Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway.
  6. Drizzle with maple syrup before serving.
