Instructions

  1. Blanch the broccoli: In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 2-3 minutes until they turn a vibrant green. Immediately drain using a colander.
  2. Sauté the garlic: In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Create the creamy base: Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted into a smooth sauce.
  4. Combine flavors: Toss the blanched broccoli into the sauce, stirring to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Final touches: Allow to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to soak up the flavors.
  6. Serve hot: Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!

Notes

For a nutty twist, add toasted pine nuts, or for heat, sprinkle red pepper flakes. This dish can also be made ahead by preparing the sauce in advance.
