Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

Crispy shrimp tacos drizzled with a creamy, spicy Bang Bang sauce, served with fresh lettuce and lime.

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Taco shells or tortillas
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Marinate the shrimp: In a bowl, marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the coating: In another bowl, mix together the flour and cornmeal.
  3. Heat the oil: Warm oil in a pan over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  4. Dredge and fry: Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, then drop them into the hot oil. Fry until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Prepare the Bang Bang sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lime juice.
  6. Assemble your tacos: Fill the taco shells with fried shrimp, then top with shredded lettuce and cilantro. Drizzle with Bang Bang sauce.
  7. Serve with lime wedges for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using an air fryer. You can also customize toppings with diced tomatoes or avocado.
