Classic Banana Bread

A warm, comforting loaf of banana bread that transforms overripe bananas into a sweet, tender treat perfect for any occasion.

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  5. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until combined.
  6. Incorporate the flour and stir just until combined.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Banana bread freezes beautifully. Wrap tightly in foil and freeze for up to three months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before slicing.
