Tomato Basil Mozzarella Toast

A delightful toast featuring crusty bread topped with fresh tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fragrant basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

  • Crusty Bread (baguette or sourdough)
  • Juicy Tomatoes (ripe heirloom or vine-ripened)
  • Creamy Mozzarella (fresh)
  • Fresh Basil (vibrant leaves)
  • Balsamic Glaze
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive Oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the crusty bread to your desired thickness (about ¾ inch).
  3. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet.
  4. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil if desired.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crisp.
  6. Remove from the oven and layer slices of fresh mozzarella and tomatoes.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh basil leaves.
  8. Drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

This recipe can be prepared in advance by slicing bread and tomatoes ahead of time. Add crushed red pepper for heat or sliced avocado for creaminess.
