  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Rice paper wraps
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Chili sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Combine minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar with the beef and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  3. Prepare rice paper by soaking in warm water according to package instructions until pliable.
  4. Assemble the rolls by placing a softened rice paper wrap flat, adding a lettuce leaf, a spoonful of beef mixture, and a few basil leaves.
  5. Roll the rice paper tightly from the bottom to the top, sealing the sides as you go.
  6. Serve the rolls with a side of chili sauce for dipping.

Notes

Make-ahead by preparing the beef mixture a day in advance. Customize fillings with other vegetables or sauces as desired.
