Salted Caramel Apple Butter: Unlock Delicious Fall Flavors!

A delightful spread that combines the rich flavors of salted caramel and fresh apples, perfect for fall.

  • 4 cups apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup apple cider

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped apples and apple cider. Cook over medium heat until the apples are soft.
  2. Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, vanilla extract, sea salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the pot.
  3. Stir the mixture until the sugars dissolve and the butter melts.
  4. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  6. Continue to cook for an additional 15-20 minutes until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.
  7. Pour the apple butter into sterilized jars and seal them while hot.

Notes

  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • This apple butter can also be canned for longer storage.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
