Refreshing Peach Lemonade

A delightful and refreshing peach lemonade that celebrates the essence of summer with the sweetness of ripe peaches and the zesty brightness of fresh lemons.

  • 68 ripe large peaches (about 3 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for peach puree)
  • 1/2 cup water (for peach puree)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (for peach puree)
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 810 medium lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for simple syrup)
  • 1 cup water (for simple syrup)
  • 46 cups cold water (for dilution)
  • Fresh peach slices (for garnish)
  • Lemon wheels or wedges (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Wash, pit, and dice the peaches into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Combine the diced peaches with 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup water, and 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice in a medium saucepan.
  3. Simmer over medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and mash the softened peaches, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl to extract peach puree.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water and heat until dissolved.
  6. Juice 8-10 medium lemons until you have about 1 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice.
  7. Combine the cooled simple syrup with the freshly squeezed lemon juice in a large pitcher.
  8. Add the cooled peach puree and mix well, then adjust with 4-6 cups of cold water to taste.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill.
  10. Serve over ice and garnish with peach slices, lemon wheels, and mint sprigs.

Notes

Prepare peach puree and simple syrup a day in advance for easier serving. Customize by adding herbs like rosemary for a twist.
