- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup red food coloring
- 1/2 cup green food coloring
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the batter into two bowls. Color one half with red food coloring and the other half with green food coloring.
- Using a spoon, alternate spoonfuls of red and green batter into each cupcake liner to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before frosting as desired.

- For a richer flavor, consider adding chocolate chips to the batter.
