  • 1 small head Cabbage (cut into thick slices)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for brushing)
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey (or plant-based options)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large Egg (optional, for binding)
  • 1 cup Cheese (for sprinkling on top)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick slices (about 1-1.5 inches).
  3. Combine the ground meat with chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and an optional egg in a large bowl.
  4. Form patties with the meat mixture, about a half-cup of filling per burger.
  5. Assemble by placing a meat patty on a cabbage slice and pressing down gently.
  6. Brush each burger with olive oil and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the meat is cooked through and cabbage is tender.
  8. Add cheese during the last five minutes of baking.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
