Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and heavy cream over medium heat.
  2. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add maple syrup and continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches the soft-ball stage (234°F to 240°F).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 8×8 inch pan and let it cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Make sure to stir constantly to prevent burning.
