Louisiana Voodoo Fries

A vibrant dish featuring crispy fries topped with a creamy cheese sauce infused with ranch seasoning and a kick of cayenne, perfect for gatherings or late-night snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 26 ounces frozen French fries
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 2 teaspoons ranch seasoning powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder (divided)
  • 8 ounces white cheddar cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Arrange frozen fries in a single layer on your baking sheet or in your air fryer basket.
  3. Create the cheese sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  4. Whisk in the flour until well combined and cook for about 2 minutes.
  5. Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps.
  6. Season the sauce with salt, white pepper, ranch seasoning, and half of the cayenne powder; cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  7. Incorporate the cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  8. Pour the cheese sauce generously over the cooked fries and serve warm, garnished with remaining cayenne.

Notes

For best results, do not overcrowd fries while baking. Make the cheese sauce ahead and reheat as needed.
