Grandma’s Classic Cinnamon Apple Crisp

A heartwarming dessert of baked apples filled with cinnamon, topped with a crunchy crisp layer.

  • 4 cups Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them into thin wedges.
  3. Mix the sugar, cinnamon, and salt with the apple slices until coated. Let it rest.
  4. In another bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Blend in the cold butter until crumbly.
  5. Pour the apple mixture into a baking dish and spread the crisp topping evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce for a perfect treat.
