- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Food coloring (green, purple, orange)
- Royal icing for decoration
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Divide the dough into three portions and color each with food coloring.
- Roll out the dough and cut into Halloween shapes.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool and decorate with royal icing.

- For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling out.
