Halloween Bloody Cupcakes to Thrill Your Guests!

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup red frosting
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting
  • Decorative eyeballs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
  8. Once cooled, frost the cupcakes with chocolate frosting and drizzle red frosting on top to create a bloody effect.
  9. Add decorative eyeballs on top if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer chocolate flavor, consider using dark cocoa powder.
  • Make sure the cupcakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
  • These cupcakes can be made a day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
