Grinch Macarons: Make Holiday Treats That Wow!

Delicious and festive Grinch-themed macarons perfect for holiday celebrations.

  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon green gel food coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • Red candy hearts (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Add green gel food coloring and vanilla extract to the egg whites and mix gently.
  5. Fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites until fully combined.
  6. Pipe the macaron batter onto the prepared baking sheets in small circles.
  7. Let the macarons sit for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms on the surface.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, then let cool completely.
  9. For the filling, beat together softened butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Pipe the filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich with the other half. Decorate with red candy hearts.
