  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • Green food coloring
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for filling)
  • Red sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Add green food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  5. Pour the batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before rolling it up in the parchment paper.
  8. While the cake cools, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  9. Unroll the cooled cake, spread the whipped cream filling evenly, and roll it back up carefully.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
  11. Before serving, decorate with red sprinkles to resemble the Grinch’s heart.

Notes

  • Make sure to roll the cake while it’s still warm to prevent cracking.
  • You can use a different color for the cake if desired.
