Garlic Butter Steak & Cheddar Potato Bake

A comforting bake featuring tender seared steak layered with creamy, cheesy potatoes for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • Juicy seared steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
  • Sliced potatoes (russet or Yukon Gold)
  • Freshly minced garlic
  • Unsalted butter
  • Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Melt butter in a heavy skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Season the steaks with salt and pepper, then sear them in the skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  4. Layer the sliced potatoes in a baking dish, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. Place the seared steaks on top of the potatoes.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the steak and potatoes.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbling.
  8. Let sit for a few minutes before serving hot.

Notes

You can prepare the potatoes and sear the steak in advance to save time before baking. Feel free to customize with additional vegetables or different types of cheese.
