Curried Fish Pie: A Delicious Twist on Tradition!

Curried Fish Pie is a delightful and flavorful twist on the traditional fish pie, combining tender fish with a rich curry sauce and topped with creamy mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 500g white fish fillets
  • 200g prawns, peeled
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 300ml coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 500g potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 50g butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
  3. Add the curry powder and flour, stirring for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add the fish and prawns, cooking until just done.
  6. Transfer the fish mixture to a baking dish.
  7. Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash with butter, salt, and pepper.
  8. Spread the mashed potatoes over the fish mixture.
  9. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Feel free to use any white fish of your choice.
  • For a spicier version, add chili powder to the curry mix.
  • This dish can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
