Crispy Parmesan Scalloped Potatoes with Garlic Cream

A comforting side dish featuring layers of creamy potatoes, infused with garlic and topped with crispy cheese.

  • 4 large Russet potatoes
  • 2 cups Heavy cream
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes by peeling and slicing them thinly, soaking in cold water for 30 minutes.
  2. Mix the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, dried thyme, and paprika in a separate bowl.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Layer the potato slices in a baking dish, pouring a third of the garlic cream sauce over them, followed by a sprinkle of cheeses.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
  5. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing to serve.

Notes

Make-ahead by assembling the dish a day in advance and increase baking time if cooking from cold.
