Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or cauliflower)
  • Fresh parsley or green onion (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp: Toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  2. Sear the shrimp: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and sear for 2 to 3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the garlic: Add the remaining butter to the skillet, melt it, and sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute.
  4. Create the sauce: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Add the Parmesan cheese and optional lemon juice, simmering for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Combine and heat through: Add the shrimp back into the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Heat for 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Serve and garnish: Serve the shrimp over rice, garnish with fresh parsley or green onions.
