Chocolate Chip Vanilla Custard Brioche

Indulge in this delightful brioche filled with rich vanilla custard and chocolate chips, combining warmth and sweetness in every slice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup vanilla custard
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Begin by warming your milk to a cozy temperature, not boiling. Dissolve the active dry yeast into milk, letting it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture and eggs into the dry ingredients. Stir until you form a shaggy dough.
  4. Knead in softened butter until the dough shines and feels smooth, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  6. Once risen, roll out the dough, spread it with your vanilla custard, and sprinkle chocolate chips.
  7. Carefully roll up the dough into a log, placing it seam-side down in a greased baking dish.
  8. Cover the dish and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the brioche for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

For best results, remember to use warm ingredients and follow rising times closely.
