Candy Cane Kiss Cookies are festive treats that combine the sweetness of sugar cookies with the delightful flavor of peppermint and chocolate.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes
  • 24 Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and eggs, mixing well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the crushed candy canes.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Immediately press a Candy Cane Kiss into the center of each cookie after removing from the oven.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a stronger peppermint flavor, increase the peppermint extract to 1.5 teaspoons.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week.
  • These cookies can be frozen for up to three months.
