Beer-Brined Bratwurst with Sauerkraut: A Must-Try Delight!

  • 4 bratwurst sausages
  • 1 cup beer
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 2 cups sauerkraut
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine beer, salt, brown sugar, black peppercorns, and mustard seeds to create the brine.
  2. Add bratwurst to the brine and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Remove bratwurst from the brine and pat dry.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté sliced onion until translucent.
  5. Add sauerkraut to the skillet and cook until heated through.
  6. Grill or pan-fry bratwurst until browned and cooked through.
  7. Serve bratwurst with sauerkraut on the side.
