Applebee’s Chicken Wonton Tacos

Delicious Chicken Wonton Tacos featuring crispy wonton wrappers filled with hoisin-glazed chicken, fresh coleslaw, and topped with sweet chili sauce.

  • 2 chicken breasts, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp minced fresh ginger
  • 1 bag coleslaw mix
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (for slaw)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for slaw)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 16 wonton wrappers
  • Sweet chili sauce, for serving
  • Chopped cilantro, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly spray the back of a muffin tin with cooking spray.
  3. Drape wonton wrappers over inverted muffin cups and bake for 5-7 minutes until crispy.
  4. In a skillet, heat 1 tbsp sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Add diced chicken and sauté for 3-4 minutes until golden.
  6. Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix coleslaw, green onions, sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and honey.
  8. Fill each wonton shell with chicken and top with coleslaw.
  9. Drizzle with sweet chili sauce and garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, prepare chicken and slaw a few hours in advance. Avoid overcooking chicken and wonton wrappers. Consider substituting chicken with shrimp or tofu.
